The University for Foreigners "Dante Alighieri" provides first and second level Masters, designed for young people in possession of Master’s degree or Bachelor's degree .
A Master is a post -graduate scientific and higher education title, subsequent to the achievement of the bachelor’s degree or master’s degree.
It is an excellent completion of studies and facilitates the entry into the world of work (representing an opportunity for targeted enhancement of the knowledge acquired in the course of studies already completed , acquiring a profile interesting and attractive to the labor market) and promotes an excellent higher education to people already employed .
University Masters have a duration of at least a year and a value of at least 60 university training credits and at the conclusion of them the Master's certificate is issued.
The courses are taught by university teachers, education experts , business managers and entrepreneurs : skills and concepts from different backgrounds allow the integration of a correct methodological approach and the applied experience .

In addition to the traditional ways of cooperation (working with Embassies, Institutes of the Italian Culture, Society "Dante Alighieri", schools and universities), University for Foreigners "Dante Alighieri" is interested in promoting the initiatives of the accredited "Promoters". During the meeting of the Organizing and Technical Committee on November 2, 2011 (Record № 33) it has been taken the decision for the creation of the Register of "Promoters" and rules that govern it, in order to formalize the relationship between the University and the "Promoter" itself.
"Promoter" - a person who is interested in distributing of Italian language and culture, language and culture of the region of Calabria all over the world, contributing to the promotion of the information and methodological teaching and organizing attendance to the University language courses at this University.
The promoters can be directed to the Register of "Promoters" in the following cases:
- All persons of legal requirements (the item of documents is shown in a special application form) for collaboration with public institutions;
- Associations and Agencies of any kind (cultural, tourist, sports, etc.) through the application of the legal representative, who self-certify the possession of the same requirements on the application form.
Officially accredited "Promoters" of the University will become the Ambassadors of the University in the countries in which they will perform this activity, and being at the University, they'll get the opportunity to attend a multicultural and multiethnic environment of the University.
"Promoters", who will decide to accompany the students at our University will be able to take some advantages of our facility (using the meeting room dedicated exclusively to the activity of the promoters, using the library funds, computers with Internet connection, WI-FI, photocopier and video projector).
In addition according to the agreement with the University some costs of promoters will be provided with a partial quota from each registered student, due to the following way:
€ 60,00 (sixty) for month of July or August.
€80,00 (eighty) for one of the other months.
To become a Promoter of the University you have to submit the requested form of application with curriculum vitae and identity card.
Please note that every three months a special Board of Examiners of University will meet to evaluate applications for registration of candidates to the Register of "Promoters".
The results of the consideration of applications will be sent to the participants. People, whose application forms will be approved, will get the certificate of registration in the Register of "Promoters".

L'Università per Stranieri "Dante Alighieri" si trova nel centro storico della città di Reggio Calabria a pochi passi dal Teatro comunale "Francesco Cilea", da Palazzo S. Giorgio sede del Comune, dal "Palazzo Foti" sede della Provincia e dalla Prefettura. Inoltre è vicinissima al Corso Garibaldi che è la via principale della Città e dal bellissimo Lungomare "Falcomatà".

In Aereo
Nella città di Reggio Calabria è presente l'aereoporto dello Stretto "Tito Minniti" che dista dall'Università 5 Km circa ed è collegato con alcune delle principali città italiane e, periodicamente, anche con alcune città europee. Inoltre, a distanza di circa 100 Km, ci sono gli aeroporti internazionali di Lamezia Terme e di Catania.
Dall’aeroporto di Reggio Calabria, il centro della città è raggiungibile in 20 minuti circa (per mezzo di taxi o autobus di linea. La linea dell’autobus che effettua servizi dall’aeroporto fino al centro è il n° 111 ed è possibile prenderlo dalla fermata dell’autobus che si trova di fronte l’uscita dell’aeroporto , e viceversa dal centro (Museo/ Corso Matteotti) all’aeroporto la linea da prendere è il n°114 e 119. L'Università è posta a metà strada (500 metri circa) dalle stazioni ferroviarie di "Reggio Calabria Centrale" e "Reggio Calabria Lido" che sono collegate alle principali città italiane tramite i servizi di Trenitalia.

Reggio Calabria è raggiungibile tramite l'Autostrada A3 (pedaggio gratuito) che parte dalla città di Salerno. La A3, attualmente, è in fase di avanzata ristrutturazione e la sua ultimazione è prevista entro la fine del 2013.

The University for Foreigners "Dante Alighieri" is located in the historical center of the city of Reggio Calabria, a few steps from the "Francesco Cilea" teatre, Palazzo S. Giorgio seat of the municipality, from the "Palazzo Foti" seat of the Province and the Prefecture. It is also close to Corso Garibaldi, which is the main street of the city and the beautiful Promenade "Falcomatà."
How to get there:
By plane
In the town of Reggio Calabria is the airport "Tito Minniti" which is about 5 km from the University and is connected with some of the main Italian cities and, periodically, even with some European ones. In addition, a distance of about 100 km, there are the international airports of Lamezia Terme and Catania.
From Reggio Calabria airport , the city center can be reached in about 20 minutes ( by taxi or bus. The bus line that provides services from the airport to the city center is the No. 111 , and you can take it from the bus stop located in front of the airport exit , and vice versa from the center ( Museum / Corso Matteotti ) airport line to take is the No. 114 and 119. From Catania airport , you can reach Reggio Calabria taking the shuttle bus No. 457 out of the airport to go to the Central Station in Catania. From there you can take trains to Reggio Calabria. To view train timetables visit the website of the State Railways www.trenitalia.it.

The University is located halfway (500 meters) from the train stations of "Reggio Calabria Centrale" and "Reggio Calabria Lido" which are linked to the main Italian cities through the services of Trenitalia.
By car
Reggio Calabria is accessible via the A3 motorway (toll free) which starts from the city of Salerno. The A3, currently, is in an advanced stage of restoration and its completion is expected by the end of 2013.
University for foreigners "Dante Alighieri", with its headquarters in Reggio Calabria, sponsored by the local committee of the "Dante Alighieri" and the Consortium for the Universita' per Stranieri "Dante Alighieri" of Reggio Calabria, was established, under the legal rules , as a non-statal legal university, an institution of higher education with a special order, starting from the academic year 2007-2008.
The University is autonomous in accordance with Article 33 of the Constitution, it has juridical personality, legal autonomy, and performs its educational, scientific, organizational, administrative and disciplinary self-government in conformity with the Statute and respecting the laws and regulations regarding university organization.
The university has the means to divulgate through teaching and research activities Italian language, literature, art and culture and also Italian political, social, juridical and economic institutions through all their forms of expression.
In particular, the University, primarily cooperating with the Italian and foreign committees of the Society "Dante Alighieri", aims to:
• promote and facilitate trade and cross-cultural comparisons with civilization in the world and originating from the Mediterranean area, paying particular attention to the problems raised by the settlements on the territory of Italian immigrants ESPECIALLY from the Balkans, the Orient and Africa ;
• keep alive, with specific initiatives, the traditions of language and the historical memory of the country of origin in the communities and the various generations of Italian emigrants abroad;
• protect and enhance the socio-cultural instances of linguistic minorities: Albanians and Hellenistic Occitans settled in Calabria, including their rediscovery and dissemination among natives, transferred elsewhere, to which they belong;
• encourage, by appropriate national and international collaboration, the establishment of training and scientific centers, in the context of an increasingly closer integration in Europe with the countries of the southern and eastern shores of the Mediterranean.
The University is supported by the Region of Calabria with its own law (Regional Law n. 1 32 December 1988, as amended) of the Organising Committee, the Province, the Commune and the Chamber of Commerce of Reggio Calabria, which provide the capital and ensure the normal functioning of the University .
Other organizations or companies and private citizens interested in fulfilling its purposes, alongside the subjects as to in comma 1, as well as the contributions provided by Article 3 of the Law n. 243 of 1991 and, where there are the necessary conditions, the resources provided for the development plans of the national university system or issued by national, EU and international funding to be used for the University’s programs and projects, can contribute to the maintenance and development of the University.

The University for Foreigners also offeres courses in Italian language and culture which issue certification of the level knowledge of the Italian language:

The university is the authorized center for the certification of the exam of Competence of the Italian Language (PLIDA).
The PLIDA certificate is an official diploma issued by the Company "Dante Alighieri" according to an agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
